When on the home screen, if I slide out the keys and start typing, it opens the phone and uses what I enter to search for contacts. Is there a way to change this so that it instead automatically opens a new text message (or email)?

I have never heard of it being able to do so, but it would be very nice to have that function. I will look into it and get back to ASAP.
