Hi guys, hoping someone can help. i have been directed to the htc site for the upgrade however the site asks for my phones serial number before proceeding to down load. However the serial number on my touch pro 2 comes up as not suitable for upgrade...

Does any one have any advise. I live in Australia and my carrier is telstra. Please help as iam keen to upgrade from 6.1 to 6.5

thanks

When I upgraded, I actually went through a third-party website. Have you tried visiting your carriers website and seeing if they have a way for you to download it?
Also, be sure to make sure you're inputting the correct number. And when you're sure you have the number the want, input it multiple times, swapping out o's for zeros, 8's, for b's, and so on. I have had countless problems inputting serial codes, confirmation numbers, and so on because of those little things.

The official link is here: http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=913&news_id=597

If your serial number's not working, perhaps I can send you the one I downloaded (it's WWE edition) if you send me a PM, or something...  ?

Before installing the upgrade do we have to back up everything on the phone? I may have read that the 6.5 erases the phone memmory?

Upgrading completely wipes out the phone memory, yes. Backup up all phone memory data somewhere, such as with Microsoft myPhone, or manually back it up before you upgrade. A new ROM will almost always delete all phone data. Your memory card is safe though.

That link was very helpful...right to the right spot.  However, it said that 6.5 was not compatible with my device.  I got the htc touch  pro2 in Nov 2009.  Is this true?

You might need to find the specific upgrade for your carrier. If you have AT&T for example, it may be a different link than for Verizon. Look around a bit, let us know which carrier you have.
